Subliminal advertising has been around for many years, usually using hidden words, dead celebrities, intentional errors, and even sexual acts in the ads. Consciously, you don’t notice anything out of place. But unconsciously, you remember there was something not quite right about the ad, and the brand or product will stick with you.
Derren Brown is a mentalist from London. In the following video, he invited two members from MBA, a London based advertising company, to work on a project for him. He has given the marketers 30 minutes to come up with a poster, slogan, and a logo. Brown’s “company” is a chain of taxidermists. He has already come up with some ideas of his own, which are located in a sealed envelope that won’t be opened until the marketers present their ideas.

Brown’s goal through this was to see if even marketers were able to be influenced through subliminal advertising. As the video shows, they definitely were.
